A Case of pulmonary infiltration with eosinophilia

Abstract

|
A 34-year old male who had been handling the petroleum was admitted because of spasmodic cough with sputum and hemoptysis for a period of 4 months. Physical examination revealed moist rales on the left lower lung field. Roentgenogram of chest showed irregular pneumonic and large nodular infiltration in both lung fields. Laboratory findings of blood showed, markedly increased peripheral eosinophils and in sputum mycotic bacteria- was not demonstrated. Diagnosis was made as Loeffler¢¥s syndrome. The patient was treated with penici,iline and steroid, he was discharged with complete recovery on 25th day of hospitalization.
